I love my BBQ grill and I even refuse to live anywhere that doesn’t allow space for an outside grill. So today for lunch I thought why not grill my salad! Sounded strange but I was up for the challenge. I heated up my grill waited patiently for it to reach its highest temperature…and nothing happened. Crap, I was out of gas! Not to be defeated, I scrambled to find our cast iron skillet with grill ridges.

The most important part of this recipe is not to cut too much off the end on the romaine lettuceĀ head. Once you shave off the end of the lettuce you cut straight down the middle hot dog wise. I hope everyone also learned their horizontal and verticle lines like hamburgers and hotdogs but, I digress.

Ingredients

1 Romain Lettuce Head

Your favorite Caesar Salad Dressing

Fresh Parmesan Reggiano Cheese

Instructions

Shave the end of the lettuce head enough to remove any brown ends while keeping the head intact. Slice the lettuce vertically down the middle and lightly brush your favorite Caesar salad dressing on top. Place lettuce face down on the grill for 2-5 min depending on how hot your grill is. Once done, dress with more Caesar salad dressing and shave deliciousĀ Parmesan Reggiano Cheese on top. Enjoy!
